Donna and I visited South Florida for 5 days last week for a short vacation. We looked for seashells on Sanibel Island and did as much birding as possible. The Mottled Duck, White Ibis, Raccoon, and Egret photos are all from J.N. Ding Darling NWR
A pair of Mottled Ducks. The male has a yellow bill while the female has an orange bill.

Reddish Egrets.

Snowy Egret, Reddish Egrets, and a huge Lubber Grasshopper.

Flowers and a White Ibis.

Mangrove Islands in Everglades National Park and a family of Racoons.

Plants (Alligator Flag; Thalia geniculata), and Apple Snail Eggs (Pomacea paludosa) all found at the National Audubon Society's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
